Spike For Charity

With the reputation as one of the ten largest catholic schools in the United States and the largest of three Marianist Universities in the Nation, many students on campus have a strong connection to service and their community.  In 2007, members of the business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi were nothing short of ecstatic about the idea for a new community service event on campus.  With the help of 8 equally motivated professional fraternities the event proved to be a tremendous success in its first year.

The fourth-annual volleyball tournament will be held April 16-17, 2010 and hopes to join a multitude of annual service oriented events on campus.  The event hopes to eventually mirror the accomplishments of Christmas On-Campus, one of the nation's largest single-day, on-campus community service events.

The University of Dayton is also home to one of the largest campus ministry programs in the country, and in 2007 the considerate service oriented student body warmly embraced the new way to help numerous charities.  The event utilizes the unique student neighborhood, community, and culture found only at The University of Dayton.  The neighborhood's outdoor volleyball courts allowed students to sit on their porches, listen to music, barbeque, and cheer on their fraternities.
